The City will be delivering new gray trash and light blue recycling containers directly to your home starting in October 2025 through June 2026. When your new containers are delivered, please leave all existing City-issued containers on your curb for the City to remove and recycle.
If any City collection containers are not removed in this process, please contact the Environmental Services Department at (858) 694-7000 or e-mail trash@sandiego.gov to schedule a container removal. Please have the serial number, located on the front of the container, ready to share. You may also bring unwanted City-issued containers to the Environmental Services Department’s Collections Services storefront at 8353 Miramar Place, San Diego, CA 92121. Hours of Operation: Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
If you are in possession of non-City-branded containers, it is your responsibility to dispose of them. Plastic or metal containers can be broken down and placed in your blue recycle bin. Alternatively, in the spirit of "reduce-reuse-recycle," there are many ways to repurpose old trash cans for storage or use around your property to help collect waste in which the contents can be disposed of in the appropriate curbside container. |
