Description:Illegal tree trimming violating the Street Tree laws of the City of San Diego. There are shade tree laws which apply to parking lots. The owners of the mall/plaza that has Edwards Theatres and Barnes & Noble in Mira Mesa had tree trimmers recently totally hack back the shade trees down to the bare bones, violating the laws for street trees. There is now zero shade. They basically pollarded the trees. The City has regulations on this tied to the Climate Action Plan. Please forward this info to the ENFORCEMENT staff at DSD to have them confirm the violation. The owners should be fined and asked to replace the trees. I did not take pictures, but it is very obvious during my visit.
