Report Category Curb
Report Type: Traffic Engineering
Address: 5850 Soledad Mountain Rd
Description:The choice for "needs painting" was not an option. We live on a very busy street that has become a major route for private vehicles, commercial vehicles and bikes/e-bikes. Our section of Soledad Mtn Rd is steep, which makes it very difficult for us when exiting our driveway to see and avoid vehicles and bikes going downhill (fast...). The speed of a lot of vehicles (and now e-bikes) has increased above the posted 35 mph, which adds to the dangerous traffic. The City has posted police vehlcles along the street and had officers ticketing speeders, but as soon as the vehicles/officers have left, the speeding continues. Many cars park close to our driveway and because the road steepens just above our driveway, we CANNOT see vehicles/bikes coming downhill until they are very close to our driveway. I am requesting that the City paint a red zone on the curbs for 12 feet uphill from our driveway and at least 6 feet downhill from our driveway.
